Clueless Soundtrack.

During the movie, we can hardly hear this song in the background on a lousy car radio in a noisy car with people speaking... well if you want to hear it, you've got to be trained!

Apparently the record company reaaly liked this song as they included it in the sampler CDs for the soundtrack (I have 2 versions, one with 4 songs out of 14, the other one with 6 songs!).
I also own the audio tape.

Cruel Intentions Soundtrack, strangely named in France Sex Intentions... They kept an "English" titled but changed the words!
A few nice tracks and away to discover TDL (this soundtrack was released 6 months before This Desert Life): Colorblind, which apparently seduced a whole lot of young people (you can't imagine how many people contact me about that song!) who saw the movie!
Colorblind is played during a very intense scene in the movie.

Mr Deeds Soundtrack, movie with Adam Sandler (not yet released in France). The Soundtrack is very interesting with new bands or singers (Travis, Weezer, Ben Kweller -Excellent-, Natalie Imbruglia) and good old ones (Yes, Pete Townsend and a Adam Sandler/David Bowie "duet" on Space Oddity). In the midle of this an unreleased track by the Counting Crows, Goin' Down to New York City, from the Hard Candy recording sessions (Weel, it might be the powerfull track that is missing on that CD!) which can also be found on some promo version of this record...

Shrek 2 Sondtrack, includes "Accidentally in love"... but this is not the version that can be heard during the opening scene of the movie.

Two tracks from This Desert Life can also be heard during the first season of the TV Show Roswell: Colorblind et Amy hit the Atmosphere (the latter being qualifed as a boring song for intellectuals!).

It seems that Counting Crows tracks appear regularly during Dawson's Creek, especially Colorblind. One of the character seems to be a fan of the band.

The semi-unreleased "Baby I'm a big star now" can be heard during the end credits of the movie Rounders (with John Malkovich and Matt Damon) but does not appear on the soundtrack.
